![]() ![]() Beth Summers is the love he can’t forget, or remember. The Long Way Home is the second book in its series, so, again, read The Last Thing I Remember FIRST! Charlie West is running from the cops because of a murder he didn’t commit (He THINKS he didn’t commit it at least) hiding in his hometown, trying to find Waterman, and catches up with his friends, and Beth. Sorry, I can’t tell you the name of the third book, I don’t know it myself… This exciting action-packed book will have suspense waiting around every corner and every nook and cranny of this crazy-awesome book. This is a really good book, so read the two books and wait for the third in anticipation. This is the second book in Andrew Klavan’s series of The Homelanders, and you kind of need to read the first book to understand this book, so if you still need to read The Last Thing I Remember (the first book) you should stop reading right now. Charlie West is the main character in The Long Way Home. Review: Boom, Boom, BOOM! The police gunshots fire loudly, aiming at Charlie West. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But Izabela longs for adventure, and convinces him to allow her to accompany the family of a renowned architect on a trip to Paris. Each of them is handed a tantalising clue to their true heritage – a clue which takes Maia across the world to a crumbling mansion in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Maia D’Aplièse and her five sisters gather together at their childhood home – a fabulous, secluded castle situated on the shores of Lake Geneva – having been told that their beloved adoptive father, the elusive billionaire they call Pa Salt, has died. The Seven Sisters is a sweeping epic tale of love and loss by the international number one bestseller Lucinda Riley. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally, we meet Jay, a young man who may be related to Kelsey in a mysterious way. Then there’s boyfriend Desmond who seems to be hiding something since their return from Xanadu. ![]() As in the first book, Kelsey’s adoptive brother, Ari, a very wealthy entrepreneur, is weirdly fixated on his sister’s love life. However, the daughter of a Hindu devil-god is perhaps too slick for these supernatural beings as she deals with relationship issues. In Empty Tomb she uses Egyptian folklore to create a web to snare Kelsey for good. In Xanadu, Salpeter accomplished an amazing job in researching Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Where book 1 is set in Asia, book 2 takes readers to Cairo, Egypt. Expect these two to have a testosterone dump over Kelsey. In The Quest of the Empty Tomb , Salpeter brings back many of the vibrant characters found in book #1 of the Kelsey Porter Series, including her insanely jealous brother (what is that all about?) and her boyfriend, Desmond. Elyse Salpeter’s second book in her Kelsey Porter Series, The Quest of the Empty Tomb, was also an exciting ride, but didn’t exactly live up to the high bar Salpeter’s first book established. The Hunt for Xanadu recently received a 5 pops review from this blog. ![]() ![]() ![]() R&P: The subtitle of your book states that Protestants “made the modern world.” How?ĪR: The Protestant Reformation is a huge event in the history of the modern world. ![]() This interview has been lightly edited and condensed. In his latest book, Protestants: The Faith That Made the Modern World, historian Alec Ryrie takes on a formidable challenge: how to survey the history and assess the significance of a centuries-long and worldwide religious tradition. Arising in sixteenth-century Europe, migrating into seventeenth-century America, and expanding by degrees across the remainder of the planet, Protestantism has achieved a level of international influence that is difficult to fathom. Last fall marked the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, an event with profound consequences for the development of both religion and politics across the globe.
